Mackay will graduate in April 2012 with a BS in Neuroscience and a minor in mathematics. He works in Dr. John Prince's biological mass spectrometry lab attempting to find lipid biomarkers of asthmatic lung tissue.

His wife graduated in April 2011 with a BS in Communication Disorders, and their son is 16 months. They like camping, shooting, reading, and doing anything outside together.
