Safety in the Lab

As any research lab's top priority, safety was taken very seriously this summer when approaching synthetic biology. To keep our team out of harm's way in the wet lab we began the summer researching and developing a dedicated safety proposal along with a Frequently-Asked-Questions (FAQs) page.

Risk Assessment

Our view of safety is not limited to only the wet lab. In conducting synthetic biology, our team examined the ethical, economic and societal implications of synthetic biology in our risk assessment page.

Our team this year decided to not only acknowledge the potential, but investigate this possibility, uncover the implications, and examine required responses. Our report on bioterrorism can be found here.
