After attending a student synthetic biology symposium in Glasgow I found this new scientific field mind blowing and entering the iGEM competition was the perfect opportunity to take my interest further. I wanted to join iGEM because it seemed like a great opportunity to get some hands on experience in a non-teaching lab environment and learn some valuable skills that I’ll need for a future career in science. Outside of the grindstone I enjoy reading, writing and going out. I’m the joint WIKI manager, along side Gurdeep. We work together to ensure our WIKI is working well>

I wanted to join the iGEM competition as this gives me the chance to obtain some lab experience and work with other team members on a project. This enables me to gain first-hand experience to a career as a scientist. Outside of the team, I have a keen interest in football and organize a 5-aside football tournament on a weekly basis. I am joint wiki manager with Ben and ensure that the WIKI is up to date and far superior to any other teams.
