Project

Our project aim is to increase the cold tolerance of E. coli by expressing and combining several chaperone proteins normally found in psychrophillic bacteria. This increase in cold tolerance should be noticed as 1) an increased survival rate of cells that freeze and thaw, 2) maintaining a higher growth rate at temperatures below 37°C, possibly shifting the minimal growth temperature down to near 0°C, or 3) both of the former. This section of the wiki contains all information about our project's setup, including its description and safety page.
