Spain meeting

  • Assign roles in the team for better structure and results
  • Use free-software for modeling
  • Rent equipment instead of buying it
    • DNA2.0 can give a discount
    • Eppendorf could borrow us some equipment
  • Promote your work/iGEM at the end at the university
    • This will lead to more interest by the researchers and students

Documentation

  • Always document everything
    • First write a protocol
    • Then check availability of the equipment and chemicals
  • Paul will update the Facebook and Twitter

Funding

  • DSM funding needs to be completed
  • Kickstarter goals need to be made
    • 2000 euro before October?

Application

  • Conserving food?
  • Growing antibiotics in cold enviroment
  • For curing diseases
  • Economical/ecological: growing E. coli at RT instead of 37 degrees
  • Out of the lab: Outside the lab it is colder, bacteria will grow with these proteins

  • A parasite is in this snail
    • Attract snail and kill it
    • Let a bacteria produce attractant and toxic
  • Pheremone search need to be done
