iGEM Japan Summer Meeting

This year, iGEM Japan teams hold iGEM Japan second Meeting at Tokyo Metropolitan University and third meeting at Kyoto University to help iGEM Japan teams and to announce team projects to each other.


What is iGEM Japan?

iGEM Japan aims at helping iGEM team in Japan and exchanging opinions, and comprises eight universities in Japan.
This organization is organized by iGEM Kyoto in iGEM 2010.[1]
We have held 2010 Summer Meeting at Kyoto University [2] and 2011 Spring Meeting at University of Tokyo.

Report

2nd Japan meet up was taken place on June 26th in Tokyo_Metropolitan University. 8 teams, 50 persons attended the meeting.

At first, we introduced ourselves and talked “What to do during this hot summer”. Each self-introduction was unique.
Next, we talk freely through playing game. This ice break time lead us to worthwhile project session.

In project session, 6 universities (Waseda-Japan, Tokyo_Tech, UT-Tokyo, Tokyo_Metropolitan, KAIT_Japan, Kyoto) presented our team project.

In Discussion, each team shared information about how to deal team management, procedures of experiments. All of team have some worry and idea to accomplish team project.
At last, we enjoyed dinner time. Thanks to this time, we got more deeply involved.
