Why?

Gene knockout is a fundamental technique in biology. It is currently a time-consuming process restricted to nonessential genes a few bacteria. For more perspectives go to project vision.

What?

In this project a novel small RNA technology for gene silencing in bacteria is developed. The silencing is flexible and works in most bacteria. For more information go to project overview.

How?

Inspired by the chitobiose system in E. coli we constructed a biological and mathematical model of the small RNA technology. For additional details go to technical stuff.
