Our project : Bee.coli

We propose the project "Bee.coli" as the micro injection system.
Bee.coli has the ability to move fast and target the pathogens concentrated area.
Getting close to the pathogens, it sends the killer gene to them with conjugation. Then the pathogens will be killed.
To accomplish this project, we planed to add three function to E.coli.
First, expression of the mutant HNS proteins enable E.coli to move 1.5 times faster. This contributes to increasing the frequency of conjugation.
Second function is new taxis for AHL. We make the target bacteria as the model of the pathogen, and they produce AHL.
Bee.coli will often go for where high concentration of AHL. That is, where the target bacteria are concentrated.
Last, the killer gene with the conjugative plasmid. Since Bee.coli also has the anti killer gene, it is alive and kill the pathogens with conjugation.
In the future, Bee.coli will help the medical or environmental scenes.
