Safety

1. Our project is utilizing only BL1 organisms and is using no known hazardous genes or gene products to the public or the environment

2. Our genetic materials and biobrick parts pose no threat to the public or environment, and are, generally, parts that have been used repetitively.

3. VCU employs an Institutional Biosafety oversight committee, which requires the Vice President to review all research projects, proposed or in progress, which involve the use of hazardous chemicals, carcinogens or recombinant DNA.

4. I do not have any current suggestions as it is a gorgeous Friday afternoon. Perhaps I will ponder the subject at my local Cantina over a cold one.
