Arabidopsis (rockcress) is a genus in the family Brassicaceae. Over two decades, Arabidopsis thaliana has gained much interest from the scientific community as a model organism of dicotyledon for research on numerous aspects of plant biology. We choose Arabidopsis for our experiment since Arabidopsis is easily grown, has long roots (10 cm long in 1 week) and provide high enough malate and citrate essential for bacterial chemotaxis. Arabidopsis strains we use compose of the wild type(WT), GFP, and Venus. GFP and Venus are strains that contains promotor which responds to auxin and express green and yellow fluorescence protein respectively.
