Today was a lesson in basic Microbiology for us, as we began our practical work by streaking strains of relevant bacteria in order to make stock cultures. We had a talk from Dr Daniel Walker and his PhD student Karen to take full advantage of their expertise in relevant fields. In the afternoon, after sampling a local delicacy known as 'Deep-Fried Mars Bars', we began research into relevant biobricks and began to price and order equipment.
