TNT or 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene does not found in the environment naturally. Nitric acid and sulfuric acid are mixed with toluene for the production of TNT. According to the EPA, the manufacture of the compound, the processing of bombs, and the recycling of explosives play a role in the TNT contamination of the environment.
