Bacterial Dosimeter--Detecting Levels of Harmful Radiation!
This year the Penn State iGEM Team consists of eleven undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. We have come together to spend the summer dreaming up, designing, and testing a new biological system
The Penn State iGEM team has chosen to work on creating and characterizing a radiation sensitivity device based on the lambda phage bistable switch. This device will effectively detect varying levels of radiation and rapidly report the result through an immobilized enzyme system.
