JIANG Hanlun:
iGEM is a great place where we not only share our ideas, but also realize them by working as a team. I was fortunate to be a member of the 2010 HKUST iGEM team. This year, as an advisor, I witnessed the development of a brand new iGEM team, which was exciting and inspiring.

WANG Haoqing:
Hello everyone, here is Yimo, a positive person crazy for both sports and life science. I was also a memeber of last year's HKUST iGEM Team member. I'm glad to carry on my iGEM experience by serving as an advisor this year. I really enjoy the great time with all the other members, advisors and instructors, from whom I learned quite a lot. Things were so great, thank you guys!

SU Min Hui:
I am Audrey Su, a Year 2 Biochemistry student. I am an adviser of the HKUST team, and I will be a volunteer for the Asian Jamboree. The two years' iGEM experience has enhanced my understanding of Synthetic Biology and love for this promising scientific field. iGEM is a learning process with both pains and fun.

ZHU Lin:
Hi, there. I am a Junior student majoring in biochemistry. During my second year of iGEM, I found myself entering a deeper level of the life science world. Just can't help appreciate lives during this process.

I am Vincent Tong and I am a Year 2 student studying Biochemistry. It is my first time to know more about synthetic biology. In the project, I am very delighted to learn different wet lab skills like miniprep. and aseptic techniques. Moreover, I met many friends from different places and I was happy to chat with them. Thank you so much for iGEM HKUST.

LU Yang, Michael, Yr1 BICH
iGEM is an exciting exploration for me, while it is a really great challenge for me as well. I knew nothing about synthetic biology before joining iGEM, but I have been working on a complex synthetic biology project for 3 months up to now. I am surprised and proud about what I have done in this period. I have learnt a lot from iGEM, not only biotechnology, but also the art of teamwork. And I got precious friendship with all the other team members as well. I love iGEM and I love HKUST 2011 iGEM team!

YUE Lu, Yellow, Yr1 BICH:
The synthetic biology is an extremely interesting and magical thing especially when you deal with the little and cute lives that can not be seen by eyes.Based the current knowledge, actually what we can control is not so much and it always gives us a lot of surprise. Just learn form it and maybe a new finding will come to us!

Synthetic biology applies what we have to make up what we want, just like building up Lego. The magic lies in that the final product can never be predicted based on the raw materials we have so far. Even though today we are still at a preliminary stage, where changing or synthesizing a segment of DNA may cost a lot of money and effort, we are determined to master it one day. Just one more thing to notice, the stronger the power, the more careful we have to be to deal with it.
