Competent cells lysis by the colicin H activity in a plate with Chrom ID coli medium. The Chrom ID coli medium contains two chromogenic substrates, one for the detection of βD-glucuronidase (E. coli) colonies producing roses and another for the detection of galactosidase giving blue color. Blue color lets us know that cells are lysed.
