Brief Introduction

      Our project focuses on constructing colorful E.coli, which includes two parts. We plan to construct two systems consisting of several strains of E.coli: one produces different pigments due to the change of time, and the other produces different pigments with the change of position.
      In the first part, the strain of E.coli works as an oscillator which can yield different kinds of pigment periodically with the help of a signal transformation system.
      In the second part, we came up with the idea of “colorful E.film”. In hope to create a colorful film, we will construct three E.coli strains which can produce and secrete three primary colors respectively in the presence of the three primary lights. Therefore, if we use a color picture as an input signal, the output will be the copy of it on the plate.

Our Standard

Japan was fun. It was very cool and windy. We flew kites in the park. I bought a watch there. I wanted to buy more, but I didn't have money. The gardens there were beautiful. I liked them the best. The department stores were too big. I couldn't find Mom. The food was delicious. We ate a lot of fish, and I also liked the vegetables and cake there. I hope I can go to Japan one more time.

Human Practise

In September, we did a questionnaire in the freshman grade. These freshmen has little knowledge of synthetic biology. We tried to find out the opinions of public on synthetic biology and spread knowledge of synthetic biology at the same time. We received 58 questionnaires back. Based on all these answers, we found out people are more concerned with environment pollutions but have a optimistic altitude towards the development of synthetic biology.
