Our in vitro work included the expression of reflectin in various strains of E.Coli, and extracting then purifying reflectin.
We did this so that we could manufacture <a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin-film_interference'>thin films</a>, as this seemed the best and most reliable way of demonstrating reflectin's <a href='/Team:Cambridge/Project/Background'>optical properties</a>.
