So many iGEM teams have organised outreach events to raise awareness of synthetic biology, but how many have stopped to consider whether or not their work has really been effective? How can you best design an outreach event, such that it provides maximal impact and enjoyment for everyone?

We believe that the best way is to hear it straight from the participants themselves - either the alumni of a 'taster session' of your own making, or those of other similar outreach events. As a proof of concept, we've undertaken a census of the alumni from the biggest outreach effort ever in synthetic biology - iGEM.
