How To Perform HCL/POJO Database Setup

  1. Install MySQL.
    • Download MySQL.
  2. Install Java SE with Netbeans (I used 7.0 on a Win7 64-bit machine).
    • Download JRE.
    • Download JDK.
    • Download Netbeans.
  3. Create necessary database within MySQL server.
  4. Create desired tables in previously-created database.
  5. Create a Netbeans Java Application project.
  6. Generate Hibernate files.
    • Generate Hibernate config file.
    • Generate Hibernate mapping file.
    • Generate Java class files (reverse engineer option).
  7. Use SessionFactory class (within HCL) to manage tables.
